Beijing - Xining - Lhasa

A 9-day trip in China. Sightseeing in Beijing, Xining and Lhasa.
By plane to Xining, excursion to Kumbum monastery. Next day by train to Lhasa. The train trip covers 1,972 km of which 960 km lie above 4,000 m altitude and the highest point being the 5,072 m Tangula Pass.
Visit the main attractions in Lhasa. Fly back to Beijing.

1. day - Beijing
Arrive at Beijing and transfer to your hotel for 2 nights.
In the afternoon visit the Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.

After breakfast visit the Great Wall of China.

3. day - Xining
In the morning transfer to airport, Flight to Xining (CZ6993 1140/1350).
In the afternoon visit of Kumbum monastery (Ta'er Si).

4. day - By train to Lhasa
Excursion to lake Koko Nor, en route visit the Sun-Moon mountain. In the evening transfer to railway station.

5. day - Arrive in Lhasa
Arrive in Lhasa at 22:30, transfer to your hotel. 3N in 4*Tibet Hotel
6. day - Lhasa
Visit the Potala Palace - the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama, the Jokhang - the holiest shrine in Tibet, and experience the Barkhor. (B)
7. day - Lhasa
After breakfast visit the summer palace of the Dalai Lamas and Sera monastery. (B)
8. day - Flight Lhasa - Beijing
Early morning transfer to Golkhar airport, fly to Beijing. Transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the free afternoon.
