11-day trip in China. Sightseeing in
Beijing, Xian, Xining and Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse.
By plane to Xian and next day to Xining. From Xining
by train to Lhasa. The train trip covers 1,972 km of
which 960 km lie above 4,000 m altitude and the highest
point being the 5,072 m Tangula Pass.
Visit the main attractions in Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse.
Fly back to Beijing. |

| 1. day - Beijing
Arrive at Beijing and transfer to your hotel for 2
nights.
In the afternoon visit the Tiananmen Square and the
Forbidden City.

2. day - Beijing
After breakfast visit the Great Wall of China. Afternoon
free. (B)
3. day - Xian
Morning flight (CA1203 0730/0915) to the old city
of Xian and transfer to your hotel for one night.
See the terracotta soldiers, discovered by peasants
just 30 years ago. The 6,000 terracottas, placed in
row after row of warriors with their horses, are one
of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the
20th century. Next you visit the Wildgangspagoda.

4. day - Xining - Lhasa
Late in the morning fly to Xining (MU2152 1120/1240).
In the afternoon visit the monastery of Kumbum (Ta'er
Si). In the evening transfer to the railway station.
Your train trip to Lhasa is about to start (N917 2007/2230,
soft sleeper, 4-bed compartments).

5. day - Arrive in Lhasa
Arrive in Lhasa at 22:30, transfer to your hotel.
3N in 4*Tibet Hotel
6. day - Lhasa
Visit the Potala Palace - the former winter residence
of the Dalai Lama, the Jokhang - the holiest shrine
in Tibet, and experience the Barkhor. (B)
7. day - Lhasa
After breakfast visit the summer palace of the Dalai
Lamas and Sera monastery. (B)
8. day - Lhasa - Yamdrok See - Gyantse - Shigatse
Visit the Pelkhor monastery and Kumbum. Drive to Shigatse.

9. day - Shigatse
Visit of Tashilunpo monastery, return to Lhasa.

10 . day - Flight Lhasa - Beijing
Early morning transfer to Golkhar airport, fly to
