Itinerary |
Day 01: Fly Kathmandu to Biratnagar.
Drive to Gangtok (7 hrs approx.). On arrival meet, assist
and drive to Gangtok. Overnight hotel.
Day 02: Gangtok, (1,600m.).
AM: Visit Enchey Monastery, Government Institute of
Cottage Industry, Dodrul Chorten, Research Institute
of Tibetology.
PM: Visit Rumtek Monastery situated 24 kms from the
city. This magnificent monastery was built by the late
Gyalwa Karmapa, the head of the Kagyu sect. Overnight
hotel.
Day 03: Gangtok-Hilley-Versey (2,840 m.).
After an early breakfast drive to Hilley and then walk
through a lush forest of pines, firs and rhododendron
to Versey. Overnight Tourist hut / Tent.
Day 04: Day halt at Versey:
The entire day is spent in exploring the area and savouring
the sight and the scent of the flowers.
Overnight Tourist hut/Tent.
Day 05: Versey-Dentam-Pemayansgste (2,085 m.)
AM: After breakfast walk downhill to the village of
Dentam (7 kms) and drive to Pemayangste.
PM: Visit the Pemayansgste Monastery, situated adjacent
to the hotel. Overnight hotel.
Day 06: Pemayangste-Khecheodpalri lake-Pemayangste.
AM: After breakfast drive to Khecheodpalri lake which
is also known as the wishing lake and is considered
very sacred by the Sikkimese.
PM: A short walk to Sangachholing Monastery
(2 km./45 mins) located on a hill top above the hotel.
Overnight hotel.
Day 07: Pemayansgste-Siliguri (133 kms).
AM: Drive leisurely along the Tista river to the southern
plains. Overnight hotel.
Day 08: Siliguri-Biratnagar (150 kms).
AM: Early morning drive to Biratnagar airport for your
flight to Kathmandu. |
