The Karakoram Highway, 8th wonder of the world , Cultural heritage and Gandharan.

Itinerary

Day 01 Islamabad-Rawalpindi (B, L,D)
Arrival at Islamabad international airport meets and greet and transfer to hotel. At noon city tour of twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad including the Raja Bazaar, Shah Faisal Mosque ( Asia biggest mosque ) Maman-i-Koh and view of the beautiful margallah hills.
Day 02 Islamabad / Taxila/Besham.(B,L,D)
Depart for Besham en-rout to visit ancient city of Taxila, including, Taxila Museum, Sirkap city ruins From (2nd Bc to 2nd Ad) and Julian Buddhist Monastery. Latter proceed to Besham. Terraced valleys and forested hills dominate the landscape and quaint villages dot the way. It's about 7 hours drive to Besham.
Day 03 Besham/ Gilgit (B, L, D)
Journey on Karakoram Highway 8th wonder of the world to Gilgit , a picturesque village with stunning views by the Indus river En rout visit the harbors an ominous strings of Buddhist inscriptions on rock carving . latter stop at Jagalot to see where the Mountain meet, visit Karakoram, Himalayas and Hindukush.
Day 04 GILGIT / GULMIT (B,L,D)
The drive today (150km/4hr) is probably the loveliest along Hunza river passing by picturesque quaint villages with apricot, mulberry, apple and peach orchards and tiers of poplar trees. Lunch at Rakaposhi View Point for its panoramic views over several snow-clad peaks namely Rakaposhi (7788m), Ultar Peak (7388m), Diran (7250m) & Golden Peak (7200m). You arrive at Gulmit, a quaint little village along Hunza River and nestled amidst spectacular mountains with excellent day hike opportunities. This afternoon, visit to a local family and have tea with them. Thereafter, you may have a hand on the "ropeway" across River Indus. Overnight at Silk route Lodge

Day 05  Gulmit Full Day (B,L,D)
Morning visit Village, rope suspension bridge, borith lake after noon free.
Day 06 Gulmit – Khunjerab Pass - Hunza (B,L,D)
Expect one of the most spectacular journeys as we make the excursion to Khunjerab Pass. It’s about 2 hours (53km) to Sust where we stop for photos at the Passu and Batura Glaciers. The impressive Passu (7200m) and Shisper (7611m) peaks stand just behind. Ascend for another 3.5 hours (85km) through the awesome jagged mountains of Upper Hunza climbing up to the 4746m. This is the world’s highest road and it marks the border of Pakistan to China. The scenery is excellent on the pass. On a clear day, Ibex mountain goats may be spotted. Retreat to Hunza after a picnic lunch by the Indus. Overnight at HUNZA VIEW or similar.
Day 07 Hunza (B,L,D)
Hunza is the centerpiece for pristine natural beauty along the Karakoram Silk Road. A morning walk along water channels is a good way to see Hunza, which only exists because of its effective irrigation systems. After lunch, we spend the afternoon exploring the bazaar and Baltit fort.
Day 08 Karimabad  / Chilas (B,L,D)
Drive back to Chilas on the Karakoram highway stop at Thalich see the beautiful view of  three Mountains Nanga Parbat  8125 M, Haramosh (7409M) and Rakaposhi (7788M) on arrival at Chilas transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 09 Chilas - Swat (B,L,D)
We detour off Karakoram Highway on our return journey via Swat – a valley of greenery. Drive about 8 hours and spend the night at Swat Township, which is an important base for Buddhist culture that flourished here centuries ago. Ruins abound in the surroundings. Overnight at Thames Hotel or similar.
Day 10 Swat / Peshawar
Morning sight seeing of Swat valley including But kara Stupa, and swat museum, en rout visit takthi –e-Bahi Buddhist monastery, latter proceed to Peshawar on arrival transfer to hotel for Dinner and overnight
Day 11 Peshawar
Morning excursion to Khyber pass, after noon sightseeing of Peshawar Museum, bazaar and dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 12 Peshawar / Islamabad.
Drive back to Islamabad via Grand trunk road. On arrival at Islamabad transfer to Hotel. Afternoon free at leaser Dinner and Overnight at hotel.
Day 13 Islamabad/Departure.
Transfer to Airport for flight back to Home.
