to the base of this holy mountain
from which we then launch
and fly down to Pokhara in
the early morning light. Never
will you experience the majestic
Himal in such a spectacular
way. Truly the best short

Itinerary |
Day
1: Jeep from Pokhara to Dhiprang,
start 5-6 hour trek up to
Kharka. Stopping for lunch
on the way and at your own
pace. This is most definitely
off the beaten path. The forest
here is untouched and home
to some unique species of
Monal, the national bird of
Nepal. Our trek is fully supported,
so porters will set up camp
and cook for us. We stay the
night in this lush forest.
Day 2: After a cup of tea
in bed and an early breakfast
we continue walking up the
ridgeline to Korchon. This
is a very scenic area above
the tree line, and it is here
we pitch our second camp.
Day3: The views from here
in the morning are simply
unforgettable as you crane
your neck to take in Machapuchare
(6993m), towering above. It
is hard to imagine a more
spectacular view. That is
until we unroll the glider
and prepare to launch from
our grassy campsite into the
blue skies around this majestic
peak. This flight can only
be described as awesome!! |
