Description |
A 3-day cycling program after arrival
in Kathmandu, with 3-days of biking which includes an
optional rest day or an add on cycling day in Nagarkot
to explore the forest trails in the lap of the Himalayas.
This is for the recreational to intermediate cyclist,
those that have some biking experience and interested
in moderate trails, generally off-road and quiet paved
sections & seeing the major sights & sites of
Kathmandu Valley. It includes the historic ancient Kingdom
of Bhaktapur, the hilltop retreat of Nagarkot at 2,000m
with views of 8 of the top 10 peaks plus the treasured
Hindu temple site known as Changu Narayan. All is via
the rich cultural villages of the Valley.
The tour offers very comfortable accommodations and
a support vehicle. |
Itinerary |
Day 01: Depart Kathmandu City
via Pashupartinath and the small villages around Thimi
on route to Bhaktapur. Then onto Changu Narayan for
lunch and the final climb onto Nagarkot with overnight
accommodations. (L/D)
Day 02: Depart Nagarkot for Dhulikel after a brief tour
around this hill-station of Nagarkot then make a
sensational downhill all the way to Bhaktapur and Banepa
on route to Dhulikel . Sightseeing in the ancient
Kingdom of Bhaktapur with lunch. Overnight accommodation
in Dhulikel (B/L/D)
Day 03: From Dhulikel there is an endless choice of
exciting trails. An ideal start is making the climb
into Nammo Buddha on jeep track and then carry onto
Panauti and wind our way through the southern valley
rim of the Kathmandu Valley for a final descent into
Lubhu and onto Kathmandu for the evening. (B/L) |
