Himalayan exploration on foot or 'trekking' has
attracted many to the world's greatest range for some time. But
for many the rigours of 'roughing it' in a tent and long days
of walking have acted as deterrents to realising the dream of
exploring the Himalayas this way.
With helicopters at our disposal and the knowledge of more than
fifteen years in the region, HHS is able to offer Himalayan exploration
on foot based from the comfort of our luxury accommodation in
the Kullu valley without the forced marches of a traditional Himalayan
trek.
Guests can enjoy the fine foods, the comfortable rooms, massages
and the health spa of our facilities while venturing out for walks
through beautifully preserved villages. Ancient temples and forests,
meetings with locals, dramatic art all of these and much more
are the experiences of a visit to the Kullu valley, all against
the back drop of the world’s most magnificent mountain range.
We offer all the attractions of a Himalayan trek without any compromise
on your comfort.
Daily activities are planned to meet each guest's desires and
can include temples and monasteries, trekking, heli-assisted ski
tours, fishing or even shopping trips on the hunt for some of
the fine crafts produced by the valley's many artisans. All of
these excursions are accompanied by our informed, English-speaking
local guides and are sure to be relaxing, informative and fun.
With advance notice, we can also organise traditional Indian musical
programmes as well as guest speakers.
These programmes operate year round. A perfect reason to visit
us any time of the year as well as a great holiday for a non-skier
accompanying one of our heli-skiing guests in the winter months.
With the snow line typically being well above the valley floor
and many sunny days being the norm, the possibilities for above-mentioned
adventures are just as good in the winter months as during the
other seasons. In the winter, we fly non-skiers on to the mountain
to enjoy a picnic lunch with their skiing friends. In the summer
months, we will use our helicopters to access higher ridge walks
for those guests who wish to go to greater heights.
