Discover the Karwendel - an epic alpine theater, cross over to Achen Lake and enjoy the lovely Rofan mountain range from a comfortable lodge. Go on a MTB venture, rough it on a strenuous trek to Guffert Spitze (2195 m), relax during a massage or criuse Achen Lake on a ship - it all depends on your activity level.
And in the true style of Oscar Wilde we 'get rid of a temptation by yielding to it': we conclude our alpine excursion with a sojourn at the legendary "Residenz Heinz Winkler" in Aschau in Bavaria. Culinary delights in an alpine setting.

Itinerary

1. day: Arrive at Munich airport, Germany
Meet your guide and transfer to Hotel Vierjahreszeiten Kempinski in Munich. Welcome dinner at a local beer garden.
2. day: Drive to Eng via Lengries to Alpengasthof Eng, 1203 m
From Munich we drive due south via Gruenwald and Lengries past Lake Sylvenstein to Hinteriss. Here we cross the border into Austria for our last leg to Eng. Accommodation at Alpengasthof Eng.
3. day: Eng - Lamsenjoch Hut, 1953 m
After a good breakfast we start our trek to Binsalm (1503 m) and and on to the Western Lamsenjoch (1940 m). Lamsenjoch Hut is already to be seen from here and our trail now more or less level.

4. day: Lamsenjoch Hut - Gramaialm, 1263 m - Steinberg, 1020 m
Take your time in the morning because it is all downhill to Gramaialm (1263 m) in the Falzthurn valley and a pleasant place to rest. Our vehicle is waiting to transfer you via Pertisau at Lake Achen on good and scenic roads to Steinberg (1020 m). Stay for 3 nights at the best Lodge.
Several hiking trails will take you to romantic gorges and tranquil mountain peaks. The highlight is an Etruscan shrine, which bears witness of the pre-Christian settlements in our region. Its inscriptions are among the oldest in Tirol.

5.& 6. day: Explore Steinberg and its surroundings
Activities a la carte - the toughest part is making a choice:
Option 1 - Hike on Holzermahd trail via Einberg Alm (1409 m) to Schoenjoch Alm (1289 m) and back.
550 m 550 m, 5 h hiking
Option 2 - Hike along the shore of Lake Achen and with a little luck you may see rams. Rest near Gais Alm (938 m). Board the cruise ship in Pertisau for Achenkirch where you will visit a small museum.
150 m 150 m, 4 h
Option 3 - Those with the right stuff climb Guffert Peak (2195 m); that's 1200 m in elevation gain and down again, 7 h. Great views.
Option 4 - easy MTB outing down to Lake Achen and after a lovely break up again via old Steinberg trail.
200 m 200 m, 25 km, 2.5 h
Option 5 - by MTB up to Guffert Hut (1465 m) on a 10 km forest trail. Enjoy your break with majestic views. Along Filzmoos rivulet and small waterfalls we ride back down to our Lodge.
850 m 1050 m, 35 km, 6 h
Option 6 - just relax in a Finnish sauna, take a Turkish steambath, or a stone oil bath, get a soothing massage ...
7. day: Steinberg - Aschau (615 m)
We drive all downhill past Lake Achen into the broad Inn valley, hit the autobahn for a short stretch before we turn right towards Niederndorf. Via Sachrang we reach Aschau in Chiemgau shortly. You will reside in luxury at "Residenz Heinz Winkler" for one night.
