Australia Outback, Reef and Rainforest Multi-Sport

Country: Australia

Description

Hike, Ride Horseback, 4-Wheel, Motor Bike, Surf, Sail, Snorkel, Dive, and Sea Kayak in the "Land Down Under"
Experience the magic and intrigue of Australia. Hike on secluded beaches and through virgin rainforest to spectacular waterfalls. Snorkel and dive the world's largest and most stunning barrier reef and see the Outback on horseback. Top it all off with savory cuisine, comfortable accommodations and unforgettable Aussie charm.

Itinerary

Days 1-3 Brisbane-Kondalilla National Park-Fraser Island. Our first stop is the famous Australia Zoo, home of the late Steve Irwin, the "Crocodile Hunter". Spend the second day hiking through rainforest to waterfalls. Then enjoy free reign to discover what gives Fraser Island its World Heritage Park status. Relax, enjoy the pools and beach, take a 4WD trip, or paddle canoes in search of dolphins and sea birds. Enjoy the fabulous Kingfisher Bay Eco-Resort with its assortment of amenities.
Days 4-5 Town of "1770". Explore the pristine coastline where Captain Cook first discovered Australia. Try your hand at the true blue Aussie sport of surfing! You'll soon be "hanging ten" with the best of them! Next stroll for seashells and then explore this remote coastline by sea kayak. Watch the sunset from our beachside accommodation.
Days 6-7 Myella Cattle Station-Capricorn Caves. Discover the Outback and the hospitality of Peter and Olive Eather on their working cattle station! Ride horseback, hang out with the orphaned baby kangaroos, ride a motor bike or 4-wheeler, watch the sun set over the boab trees and listen to a good yarn around the campfire. Visit Capricorn Caves--you can explore the "zig-zag" cave or try and squeeze through the "rebirth" or "superman" caves.
Days 8-9 Eungella National Park. Trek through Finch Hatton Gorge to the stunning Araluen Falls and The Wheel of Fire for a refreshing swim in the clear water of the pools. Search for the elusive and playful platypus at Broken River. Hike through rainforest atop the Clarke Range for stunning views out over the coast.
Days 10-13 Great Barrier Reef. Live aboard the "Oceania" as we snorkel and scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef, home to hundreds of species of coral, fish, and mollusks. Conclude with a hike up Mt. Roper in Conway National Park before heading to the airport.
