Itinerary |
| DAY 1--Mountain Village Lodge, Arusha
Saturday
At your hotel in Nairobi, you will be met and transferred
to Arusha, crossing the Masai Steppe and the border
into Tanzania at Namanga. Arrive at the Mountain Village
Lodge early afternoon. Afternoon at leisure with option
of guided walk around Lake Duluti. (Dinner only)
DAY 2--Lake Manyara National Park
Sunday
Depart on safari after breakfast, driving to Lake Manyara
National Park. The drive to Kirurumu Tented Lodge takes
approximately three hours. The lodge is situated on
the Rift Valley Escarpment with magnificent views over
the Rift Valley and Lake Manyara. The Park supports
a wide variety of game in a relatively small area due
to the diversity of habitats: acacia woodlands, open
grassland and the lake itself, a haven for bird life
and hippo. Manyara is famous for its tree climbing lions,
though they are more usually seen on the ground! After
lunch there is an optional guided walk to Kirurumu Gorge
followed by an afternoon game drive. Overnight Kirurumu
Tented Lodge (Full board)
DAY 3,4,5--Serengeti National Park
Monday to Wednesday
Drive to the Serengeti National Park for game drives
to follow some of the millions of animals and the daily
drama of their lives. Overnight Special Camping in Selous
tents (click HERE for a camping description), each with
its own toilet and shower tent, at a private campsite.
All camp bedding and towels are provide. (Full board)
DAY 6--Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Thursday
Drive to Olduvai Gorge for a picnic lunch and to visit
the small but interesting museum. This is the site of
Louis Leakey's discoveries of earliest man. Continue
in the afternoon to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, situated
on the crater rim, offering stunning views of Ngorongoro
Crater. (Full board)
